Structural Engineer –Leicester

Position

Experienced Structural Engineer with 2-4 years’ experience in developing innovative architectural designs and creative solutions, you must have the capacity to work collaboratively with contractors, clients, and office-based teams.

You will play a key part of a multi-disciplined professional team providing Structural Engineering advice, calculations and designs for new and existing modular building projects.

Job Responsibilities

Outline of General Duties :

• The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic Structural Engineer, keen to progress, with around four years relevant post-graduate experience within a similar consultancy environment
• Responsible for detailed design work and knowledgeable in the environmental aspects of structural design
• Manage and monitor successful delivery of project technical/quality reviews of specifications, reports, and drawings
• Undertake detailed structural engineering calculations on a very varied and interesting scope and size of projects
• Have a pragmatic approach to producing engineering solutions considering site constraints, the clients/architects brief, buildability, sustainability and using engineering judgement and experience.
• Be capable of working in new and changing environments and have a desire to be challenged and contribute to the success of the business
• Carrying out project site inspections and approvals.
• Ability to lead smaller projects independently
• Ensure the implementation and continuous management of JMS Company policies on all projects undertaken
• A passion for structural engineering with an ambitious to succeed and be part of a successful team

Qualifications and Skills

• Educated to degree level in Structural or Civil engineering or be able to demonstrate comparable technical knowledge and work experience of Structural Engineering schemes of varying size and complexity
• Be capable of working in new and changing environments and have a desire to be challenged and contribute to the success of the business
• Be willing to travel across the UK for visiting sites and Group offices – Full UK driving license
• Ensure the implementation and continuous management of JMS Company policies on all projects undertaken
• Experience of health and safety requirements and undertaking construction works in accordance with regulations
• Harness any opportunities for further work and new commissions
