Structural Auditor (Part-Time considered)

Position

The position requires an Engineer with at least 3 years’ experience of working with the design or inspection of structurally framed buildings, using our own specialist mobile app for compiling the reports in real time.

Undertaking site visits, surveys and inspections of primarily quarry based structures (lattice framing to conveyors, silo supports,  hoppers etc.), this role will generally take you 2 or 3 days per week out of the office with the remaining time carrying out structural ‘design’ works.

A typical inspection will require you to;

  • Recognise the types of structural defects
  • Identify any signs of material deterioration
  • Identify any signs of structural distress and deformation
  • Identify any alteration and addition in the structure

Qualifications and Skills

  • Educated to degree level in civil engineering or be able to demonstrate comparable technical knowledge and work experience of Structural Engineering schemes of varying size and complexity
  • A broad knowledge of structural engineering design and construction practices, with the ability to develop and apply innovative solutions to problems
  • Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK to visit sites and other JMS offices
  • Experience of health and safety requirements and undertaking construction works in accordance with British standards and regulations

JMS is a diverse organisation and we would particularly welcome applications that meet our general aspirations as a recognised inclusive and diverse employer.
