JMS’ Midlands team shortlisted for the ProCon Leicestershire Awards 2021.September 22, 2021 News
We are proud to announce that JMS Midlands are in the running for an award at ProCon Leicestershire this November. These awards are considered the county’s biggest celebration of excellence in the built environment, and to be shortlisted next to such a high calibre of competition is an incredible honour.
The team have been put forward in the Medium Residential Scheme category for their support on a bespoke five-home cul-de-sac, Laburnum Gardens. Civils Production Director Bhavin Parmar is over the moon that their hard work is being recognised at the highest level:
“In a year that has seen an incredible number of amazing property developments, I’m delighted we have been shortlisted for the ProCon awards. Laburnum Gardens is a beautiful little development, with cottage-style homes that take their design cues from local landmarks and existing properties in the surrounding village. We supported the developer with designs for the foundations and superstructure. And on the civils side, we designed the private access road and SuDS.”
While the finished development caught the eye of many prospective homeowners, it’s only thanks to the expertise and problem-solving abilities of the JMS team that the developer’s bold designs could move beyond the planning stage.
“We drew up plans to divert a sewer through the site, and found ways to create retaining structures next to an existing footpath. It’s no surprise that these properties were snapped up by eager homeowners, because they are fantastic looking houses, in a beautiful setting. But it’s our work behind, or rather under, the scenes that facilitated the development.”
For JMS’ Midlands Director Andy Kenyon, the award-nominated development is yet another feather in the Midlands team’s cap:
“When you think about engineering, it’s easy to focus on the skyscrapers, and the major civil construction projects that grab the headlines. However, we’re living in a time where there’s a pressing need for high-quality housing above all else. And the truth is, it’s the complex and skilled engineering work that goes into creating these developments that ensures the demand can be met. To see JMS being recognised for this vital work is amazing.”
Will the team at JMS’ Midlands Office find success at the ProCon awards later this year? All will be revealed at the King Power Stadium in Leicester this November.
