You can’t design buildings 24/7. Well, you can… but it’s generally frowned upon in social settings.
So last week, the JMS East Anglia team (Ipswich and Norwich offices) took a well-earned break from structural spreadsheets and civil engineering conundrums to hit the lanes with our friends at GC Robertson. The goal? Team bonding, light-hearted competition, and to see whether Piotr could finish a game without reinventing the laws of bowling physics.
The bowling: electric. Chaotic. Beautifully uncoordinated.
Max and Alex somehow pulled out a win each - though GCR are still claiming a miscalculation and have promised a formal inquiry. Meanwhile, Piotr delivered what can only be described as interpretive dance with a bowling ball. Imagine Swan Lake meets structural failure. We loved every second of it.
Despite the odd gutter ball (and the chips), spirits were high and laughter plentiful. Because sometimes, it’s good to put the hard hats down and just enjoy being a team. Even if that team can’t quite break 150 on the scoreboard.
Here’s to more nights like this - where engineers unwind, bonds are built, and no one needs to run a load calc.
