    Main Responsibilities

    • Lead the whole design process from conception to fully co-ordinated construction details for multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
    • Identify defects in construction with the ability to determine their cause and recommend remediation solutions.
    • Manage and mentor a team of structural engineers and technicians.
    • Develop project briefs, maintain project objectives, and define project scope, budgets goals, and deliverables.
    • Establish and maintain communications with internal and external project stakeholders, monitoring and reporting on project progress.
    • Lead project meetings with internal and external resources, and with project stakeholders.
    • Pro-actively seek new client opportunities.
    • Manage costing proposals and tender bids.

    Required Qualifications

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
    • A broad knowledge of Structural Engineering design, engineering techniques and theories, with the ability to develop and apply innovative solutions to problems.
    • A good understanding of new and existing technologies and practices in construction.
    • Experience managing in-house cross-disciplinary project teams (Civils & Structures etc).
    • Sound experience of liaising professionally with external clients, agencies, and other design consultants with the ability to adapt to different management styles and working environments to build rapport with clients.
    • Good time management and organisational skills to efficiently manage workload.
    • Ability & desire to get the best out of team members.
    • A good knowledge of the CDM regulations in addition to British standards and EU regulations.
    • Excellent spoken and written English.
    • Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK to visit sites and other JMS offices.
    • Eligibility to live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof when requested.
    • Pro-actively seek new client opportunities.
    • Responsible for costing and producing proposals and tender bids

    Expected Qualifications:

    • A broad knowledge of Structural Engineering design and construction practices, with the ability to develop and apply innovative solutions to problems
    • Ability to adapt to different management styles and working environments to build rapport with clients
    • Have good time management and organisational skills to efficiently manage your workload
    • Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK to visit sites and other JMS offices
    • Experience of health and safety requirements and undertaking construction works in accordance with British standards and regulations
