Despite the pandemic, JMS Group reports growth and recruitment drive

A series of new contract wins is helping one of the UK’s leading engineering consultants to post an increase in turnover during 2020.  And, as businesses in the UK remain under intense pressure owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, JMS, the national Civil and Structural Engineering Group is holding a big recruitment drive.

The company wants to find around ten more Engineers to add to its cohort of 50+ staff, with roles ranging from Senior Civil and Structural Engineers to Structural Auditors and Graduates.

During the pandemic, JMS put in a number of measures to support existing and new clients, an approach that has paid off, with business booming.  In 2020, the firm successfully recruited seven additional staff members, while also establishing a new office in Manchester, where a further six specialist Engineers from the Manchester area were recruited.

The 2021 recruitment drive is aimed at filling new roles across the company’s sites in Nuneaton, Midlands, Cambridge, Ipswich, Leicester and London.

Daniel Staines, Managing Director of JMS, said: “Given the considerable challenges that COVID-19 has caused, I am delighted with the performance we have delivered during 2020.  We know that this pandemic has been a challenging time for many businesses in the UK, and I am grateful that our staff have managed to adapt and overcome any challenges they have faced.

“We have remained operational throughout, which is a clear demonstration that the business model we put in place to support our clients was effective and successful.

“As we look ahead over the next few months, we are anticipating that demand for our services will continue to increase.  To meet this demand, we look forward to welcoming an intake of new engineers who are looking to build an exciting future in a forward thinking and diverse organisation.”
