Recently, some of our civil and structural engineering teams from JMS Engineers and GC Robertson swapped the office for an early start – 7am on the dot – and set off for Norwich.
What should have been a straightforward drive turned into a mini adventure. We somehow managed to take a scenic detour through the Norwich fields (beautiful views, questionable sat nav choices) before finally arriving… but not before fuelling up on a well-earned full English breakfast.
The reason for our trip? The East of England Sustainable Building Network - a brilliant event bringing together people passionate about making construction more sustainable.
We heard from Paul Inch, who gave a fascinating talk on Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and industrialised construction. His insights into how these approaches are changing project delivery and efficiency really hit home, especially as we’re always looking for smarter, greener ways to design and build.
A big thank you to Cannon Clarke Architects for hosting such a welcoming and thought-provoking session. We left with plenty of ideas, a few new connections, and a reminder that collaboration is the key to delivering buildings that are safe, efficient, and sustainable.
JMS Engineers is proud to be part of conversations like this - and even happier when they come with good company, great coffee, and the occasional countryside detour.
