Flood Risk Assessment - Tamworth

9 Unit development on a greenfield site Tamworth

This site has been a challenge for us. It was previously refused planning on several different proposals, but we were able to work with the local authority to get approval for this scheme.

The site is in a Flood Zone 3 designated area and abutting a flood defence structure.  The project required significant liaison with the Environment Agency to achieve a compromise to protect their assets and allow development.  The floor levels of the properties have been raised above the design flood level to ensure that they would be protected in the event of a flood defence breach.  The surface water drainage system incorporates below ground attenuation up to the 1 in 100 year plus climate change allowance storm event.
