Henley Green

Henley Green is a residential suburb in northeast Coventry that was built to house workers during the city’s industrial heyday. With extensive redevelopment planned across the borough in the coming years the Henley Green Medical Centre was in desperate need of modernising and updating to cope with the predicted influx of users.

The original medical centre was of 1980’s, single storey, construction, and plans were approved for the addition of a second storey and full modernisation of the building.

The original design team could not meet the budget available and JMS were brought in to provide the structural design, drainage and highway works – on budget and on time.

The revised design included the replacement of the traditional piles with a vibro compaction scheme and the result has been the creation of a building that retains strong ties with the community whilst expanding and modernising to improve services, customer experience and wellbeing.
