Lancaster House & York House

Lancaster House and York House are two luxury properties in Orton on the Hill. Each sit on around 4,500 square feet of land, and have been built to maximise every bit of space. The lucky homeowners also get to enjoy a stunning view that takes in four counties, through large windows that reach high into the ceilings.

Neither house had access to mains drainage or open watercourses within the vicinity of the site, so alternative means of drainage had to be sought. JMS assisted in unlocking the site by designing an innovative system from Groundwater Dynamics which conveys water by pressure differentials to suitable ground at depth. This method was used to drain both the treated foul and surface water from the site.

The final build closely represents the original brief, without compromise and the contemporary look complements the character of the village, with an interior that’s all about grandness, using materials like oak and glass. These are homes that enhance the local environment, and enhance the lives of the families who live there.

The project was so successful that the JMS Midlands team are finalists in the Medium Residential Category at the 2022 ProCon awards. The county’s biggest and most respected property and construction industry awards.
