The Square, Attleborough

JMS recently provided Civil and Structural Engineering services to create 14 assisted living apartments, designed for working age adults who require support day by day to maximise their independence.

The project in Attleborough, Warwickshire, provides four of the seven ground floor apartments with wheelchair accessibility and access by stairs or a lift to a further seven apartments on the first floor.

Due to the development being next to an existing pub on the western boundary, the foundations had to be dug in sequence to minimise disturbance.  Additionally, due to the proximity of the highway boundary line on the Eastern boundary, reinforced cantilevered ground beam foundations were implemented.

Also, an existing drain through the site had to be diverted to accommodate the development proposals. Surface water discharge was restricted off site into the Severn Trent Sewer with the incorporation of a below ground attenuation tank and flow control device.
